Would you consider taking a child who is struggling to read under your mentorship for a year?  The need for future federal prisions in the United States is based on the illiteracy rates of third graders in the United States.  By coming alongside to encourage a child in their reading skills, you are potentially impacting generations.  Once a week for about an hour is all it takes.  You do not need to be a certified teacher to be a part of this program, you just need basic reading skills and a heart to help!
